In the name of Allah, Most Beneficial, Most Merciful
Selamat Datang and Welcome to UTeM International Centre (UIC)
As a focused university, UTeM now has approximately 12,753 students, with a majority at the undergraduate level. UTeM has produced 35,665 graduates since 2005. UTeM’s graduates are highly sought by industries bearing a record of 93% graduate employability in local private and multinational companies.
UTeM international students come from more than 30 countries around the world, including Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Chad, Syria, Pakistan, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Tanzania, India, USA, Somalia, Singapore, Qatar, Palestine, Libya, Iraq, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Ghana, France, Yemen, Nigeria, and Jordan. There are currently 615 international students, including 148 undergraduates and 467 postgraduate international students.
In enhancing students’ unique international learning experience, particular study abroad programmes are prepared through the Students’ Mobility Programme, participating in Erasmus+ Scholarship Programme, Mevlana Programme and Sakura Science Exchange Programme. Elevating international recognition and relevance, UTeM’s internationalisation initiatives include partnerships in research and innovation, teaching and learning in fields of mutual interest.
We seek opportunities for impactful synergies with other institutions abroad that substantially benefit both parties, especially in strengthening our capacities in research, consultations, and academic excellence. This website can provide helpful information regarding our services and strategic collaborations with higher institutions worldwide.
Currently, UIC coordinates all international partnerships and activities while handling international student affairs and mobility programmes. In addition, we also maintain and develop access to study abroad programmes, now more commonly known as mobility programmes in partner institutions, including monitoring and conversion visits, online support to academic staff & students and organising visits from visiting scholars.
As the new Director of UIC, my charter is on planning and designing internationalisation-related activities to drive UTeM’s academic achievements at the global level, in line with the university’s seven strategic goals (SSG). That is to position UTeM as the leading university in higher TVET education, specialising in Advanced Manufacturing and Computing Technology and providing a transformative and experiential learning environment through a flexible industrial-based curriculum and the latest technology.
